Hi Everyone,

Below are more replies regarding my brother who will not be tested for
celiac disease.

I sent him the summary of the replies. Not only does he not want to be
tested or eat gluten free, he has decided that my mum does not have celiac
disease and is feeding her gluten again. He threw me out of her house (he
moved in to look after her) after I pointed out that the crackers and
Campbell's soup were not gluten free.

Mum scratched herself the entire time I was visiting her. Not only is she
on unnecessary medication (She was put on Dilantin from a seizure after
drinking alcohol), but she is eating the food that almost killed her as a
baby in 1924!

As one of the replies below suggests, all I can do is pray now.....

Hey Susan! Maybe it's a brother thing... who knows. You'd think that they'd
want to feel better and, more importantly, if they're so sure that they
don't have it, what's the harm in being tested for it? Hope you're doing well!

He is probably in denial! My family won't get tested either; it is soo
frustrating! But, all you can do is give him the information and Pray!!
Good luck to you!

All these replies THEY think if they deny it then it's not there , some
follow their Drs like a sheep going to slaughter , but most Drs deny celiac
disease also.

Lil All these replies sound like my mother. I know she has celiac but
she refuses to be tested -she has potty accidents, stomach upset etc.
Her excuse is she can't live without cream soups and rye bread -I have
showed her you can -but nothing changes. Oh well.............:( She also
has heart problems along with other gastro problems. I have Celiac and
my Sister had Cystic Fibrosis (in the 60's and passed away :() Now I
have Celiac and my 2 boys have Cystic Fibrosis Things do run in families......

THEY think if they deny it then it's not there , some follow their Drs like
a sheep going to slaughter , but most Drs deny celiac disease also.

Thank you again everyone!

All the best,
Susan
