Hello!

Some of you already saw this info on my Celiac in the City Facebook
page, but wanted to pass along the info here too.

Yesterday I found mint M&M's that stated, "may contain wheat" on the
label. I was so disappointed! Luckily I checked the label, as I have
eaten these in the past and there was no wheat warning.

Called their customer service line and their automated message still
says all M&M's are GF, except the new pretzel ones. Made a call to
actually speak to someone and was told that they were produced on the
same lines as the pretzel M&M's, so there could be cross contamination
and contain some wheat.

She said they would pass along my disappointment to her
supervisor/team. But she also said that ANY of the M&M's could now
have this wheat warning. She said to be sure and check the package
every time as it will vary. (not what I wanted to hear)

Feel free to give them a call 800-627-7852 or shoot them an email to
let them know we would like the pretzel ones to be produced on their
own lines. M&M's is a go-to treat for many gluten free folks,
including me! :)

On a positive note, we did start sharing recipes on FB for layered
mint brownies and other substitutes for the M&M's!

Sarah
