I quote the following from *The Celiac ActionLine*, April 1995,
pg. 6:

"Starch in Medicines must be investigated. Unlike starch in food
which must be corn starch, in medications it can be any
carbohydrate."

I quote the following from *The Sprue-nik Press*, February 1995,
pg. 7:

"(Author's note: For medications, do not assume that 'starch'
means 'corn starch', as it does with foods. The labeling laws
regarding medications and foods are different in this respect.)"

This same point was also raised by Ann Laeginess, a pharmacist,
during her talk at the CSA/USA conference held in October, 1994.

I believe that over-the-counter medications such as Tylenol fall
into the "medicines" category, not the "food" category.

NOTE: This entire discussion refers to labeling laws in the USA.
Labeling laws will vary in other countries.
