Hi All,
I underwent a CT scan on Friday, July 26, and was told that 1 in appx 500
react badly to the contrast solution they inject. Because of my alergies, and
celiac disease, the Doctor chose to go with a more expensive contrast solution
that causes a reaction in fewer people. I reacted, at the time, with difficulty
breathing, and a light-headed dizziness. I was given some counteracting drugs,
and kept there until the reaction had subsided, and was then released.

When the doctor (radiologist I think) released me, he said that he was thinking
about "writing this up," as I am the third celiac he has given this contrast
solution to, and all three of us have reacted to it. He thinks it might be the
iodine.

Since that time, 5 days ago, i have felt quite ill, with vomiting, very
watery diarrhea, muddle-minded, and lots of pimple-like sores that are very
annoying.

Something the doctor said indicated that a CT scan could be done without the
contrast solution, so that might be an option worth exploring, should the need
arise for you to undergo a CT scan.
I hope that is helpful.
