I know, I know, more of the better late than
never stuff, but I have to share the info...
Sorry again for the delay!!! Atlantic City was a
blast! We had such an amazing, GLUTEN-FREE time.
We found EVERY place to be EXTREMELY
accomodating!!! This was our BEST GF VACATION
YET! We were more than pleased and unbelievably
impressed!

We ate in their Upstairs Cafe (which is like a
coffee shop in the Trump Marina) - we spoke to
the chef to discuss cross-contamination issues
and asked for special prep (ie - clean the grill
or use tin foil). We had marinated (they make
their own marinade) chicken breasts and marinated
grilled veggies, burgers, omelets, and bacon.

We ate in HARBOR VIEW (fine dining in the Trump
Marina). The waiter and manager were both a
little familiar with celiac, which helped. We
had the prime rib (they don't use commercial au
jus), mashed potatoes, and veggies (which aren't
blanched in pasta water), as well as crème Brule
for dessert. The manager had checked with the
chef a few times regarding our questions, and it
seemed by the manager's responses that the chef
was pretty proficient in what we could and
couldn't have.

We also ordered room service (in Trump Marina).
The woman who took my order over the phone knew
how the food was prepared and gave some
suggestions, as I explained to her what we could
and couldn't have. She warned me NOT to have the
bacon from room service because they deep fry it
(at least during the weekends when they are very
busy - I had never heard of this). We had steak
and eggs (omelet), scrambled eggs, and fresh
fruit. She even called our room later to see how
our meal was!

We also ate at the coffee shop in Harrah's
Casino. It was either the Corner Grill or
Reflections Cafe. I think it was the first,
since it was on the main floor close to the
casino. The manager got a chef for us - again we
had omelets but this time we also had home fries,
which they prepared gf just for us!

I had received 2 responses -

- "I go often to the Trop and
Claridge. They have done a great job meeting my
needs. Trop more so than Claridge and I hope to
get them to join the GFRAP!"

- and the 2nd had forwarded to me the support
contact info from <celiac.com> for Atlantic City.
I did call and left a message, but never
received a response.
