Thanks to all for your input. Everyone suggested having the sandwich makings brought to the table and then assembling the sandwich myself. It wasn't that I didn't think of that myself....but rather the fact that usually I order a BLT and I prefer my bread toasted. Or if I go for breakfast at one particular restaurant, I like to have toast. They are generally very careful. I never take pasta or pizza crusts....but was just referring to other statements seen on this list.

Of course, we had some who just had to lecture me....telling me my retirement years will be miserable if I continue on this course. Sorry, but I am already there. I am a very careful person, but I enjoy a meal out just as anyone else does, but I feel the safest thing to order is a BLT.

Well, all I can say is this..... most breads require being toasted or warmed up to taste decent. But now that we have the millet bread from DeLand's Bakery in Florida, this is no longer necessary. That is the best bread!!!! Makes all my sandwiches taste wonderful, and the bread does not need warmed or toasted.

Anyhow.... thanks everyone. But don't forget the original point of that first letter...... That perhaps someday celiacs could get an exemption by the State Food Safety Advisory Committee, allowing them the opportunity to bring in their own breads. Now whether they want to take that particular risk is their own personal business.......not mine. We have to live our own lives.

Bev
