Having seen the recent posts about wine casks being treated with wheat paste, and not seeing any follow up from our experts on the list (I guess folks don't want to give wine!), I decided to try an experiment. I googled Napa Valley vineyards and found a website that lists all of the wineries in that area of the country. I sent emails to a batch of them asking about their barrels, what they know about it, etc.

Perhaps someone could take another region and email wineries there. I'm going to try the couple of wineries in southern NJ, where I live.

It could be that the only barrel maker who uses wheat post is one sited in the email last week.
