Well, I guess if one looks long enough and hard enough .... I found
out yesterday (and heard from someone today) that Teva Pharaceuticals
(which is also Barr and Ivax) requires allergen statements from their
secondary suppliers stating that their products have been tested for
allergans and gluten. The gal I spoke to commented that calling every
time a prescription is refilled is a good precaution as the status can
change at any time. So, if they tell you it is GF, it is. (Actually
the gal I spoke with was surprised that all pharm houses do not
require similar certificates from their suppliers in order to insure
quality products.)

Kudos to Teva (an Israeli-based company).

My thanks to all who wrote in regard to my article. You were
overwhelmingly supportive and in agreement that if anything is gonna
happen in this arena, we are going to need a strong coalition lobbying
for FDA changes, similar to what happened in the food industry.

It seems I am not the only frustrated celiac on this list!
