First of all, I want to thank everyone who sent a reply to my post. I
couldn't believe how wonderful you all are!

For thickening soups, I found out that sweet rice flour, arrowroot flour,
cornstarch, minute tapioca (stew), potatoes, grated potato or dry potato
flakes, glutinous rice flour, bean flour, corn flour, pea flour and potato
flour all work. Or you can thicken it with vegetables. For coating
fish/meat, potato flour is supposed to work good.

I found out that my kids more than likely have Celiac as I just found out my
BIL has it, so that would probably means that it is on both sides of the
family. I wouldn't doubt if my FIL has is too. The kids go tomorrow to get
referred to a pediatric gastroenterologist (they are 15 months and 2.5
years).

I found a different doctor, one that would check into the tests for me. My
doctor had told me, "If it bothers you, don't eat it!" So now the doctor
I'm going to is seeing whether she can order the blood tests or whether she
needs to refer me. I'm getting really tired of eating gluten, because
everytime I do, I get a migraine and really anxious, as well as get the
runs.

For "inexpensive" sources for flour, it was recommended I go to a health
food store or an ethnic store. Or even the ethnic aisle in the grocery
store. I was reminded that it may cost more to eat, but think of all the
cost of being sick all the time.

Oh, and I live in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, so I have Kinnikinnick Foods
very close.

My SIL bought me some Frookies the other day and they were great! So nice
and moist! Kids didn't complain too much, either.

Thanks!

Amy from Edmonton, Alberta
