Thanks to Joel for surfacing the New York Times article on Autism with its
potential connection to celiac disease, asthma and inflammation.

Upon reading the article I wondered if the connections that the author made
were based on formal academic training and experience. He is the author of
"the forthcoming An Epidemic of Absence: A New Way of Understanding
Allergies and Autoimmune Diseases" according to his posting on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn also shows his education to be Columbia University (presumably
undergraduate) and Graduate School of Journalism-UC Santa Cruz. LinkedIn
also shows his work experience to be Science / Enviro Reporter at* *The
Monitor (up to 2010), Metcalf Diversity Fellow at Metcalf Institute,
andGraphic Designer atBlink Digital.

As informed consumers of countless amounts of information from the
internet, every reader should form his or her own judgment of the article
based upon reading the article and understanding the author's background,
education and experience.
