I have celiac disease. I am having problems with insomnia
and wonder whether other's with CD notice this. I don't
have trouble falling asleep. I wake up in the middle of
the night (for around 2 hours) and can't get back to sleep.
I think it happens because of minor gluten contaminants
I inadvertently ingested 10-14 hours previously.
"Inadvertently" meaning a restaurant has added a flavoring
or some minor ingredient to something I think should be
OK to eat.

My stomach starts churning around 3 AM after I've eaten
something at lunch or dinner. I lie awake for around
2 hours while I run to the bathroom every 1/2 hour.

Has anyone experienced insomnia related to CD? A search
of the celiac data base 6 months ago showed up little
on insomnia.

This delayed reaction to gluten is not my only CD symptom.
Note that an overt gluten challenge causes intestinal
distress within 1 1/2-2 hours.
