I'm 34 and really confused. In four months I've lost 20 pounds that I
didn't have to lose. Even though I eat all the time, I still lose weight.
In November I had caught a bad virus, and had been seriously stressed for a
few months before that. So I thought that's why I lost the weight. In
February, when I hit 105 lbs, I finally went to a general physician who ran
all kinds of tests, chest x-rays, MRI, etc. With some of the symptoms I
had, she thought I might have Celiac Sprue, she put me on the gluten free
diet and after about a week and a half I put on 2 lbs. She also referred
me to a GI Doctor. The GI dr gave me an upper GI (barium x-ray) and found
nothing, then a week ago I had a colonoscopy to find out the reason for my
bleeding. I had two polyps removed and biopsied which came back benign.
The GI dr doesn't think I have CD and kind of laughed at me for even
thinking about it. He took me off the GF diet the day of the colonoscopy
and now I'm back down to 104 lbs. Should I pursue being tested for CD?
I've been subscribed to this list for a couple weeks now and reading and
waiting for my answer from my doctor. Now I feel like I've been dumped
with no answers. Help! Thank you.
