Hi - My 8 year old daughter is allergic to potato and intolerant to gluten. When she eats potato, she has explosive diarrhea. When she eats gluten, she gets constipated. She is still learning what is GF and does not read labels for products contain potato. The problems mainly occur at friends' houses or school; but generally, most people try to be supportive.

Here is the problem... she has had several BM accidents. I think that bacteria infects her urinary tract leading to a UTI. She has had 3 UTI's in the past 6 months. The only symptom is a low grade fever (99-101), no burning or back pain. I know it is a UTI because I give her a home test. Now, her pediatrician says that she may be prone to having more UTIs in the future.

How can I break this cycle? Do you have any suggestions for eating GF/potato free in public areas? And how do you teach children which products are off limits?

Thank you in advance, Michelle and Josephine
