Friends,
Judging from the mail I have received after yesterday's post, I'll comment to the list instead of individuals.

First of all ~ the cola issue. I have no idea why the local manager said to avoid the colas. His note said he had been in touch with the corporate office in Louisville. My guess would be that they are "erring" on the side of caution. Perhaps there is something in old literature concerning the color/flavor issue.

Neither do I know why the mashed potatoes were listed, but from the list that Lucy so kindly posted, mashed potatoes were also to be avoided. (A baked potato was fine). The seasoned rice obviously has some ingredient that we cannot have. It's been listed as not GF on every list I've seen.

I've eaten at our local TR twice, and have not had a problem. I applaud the very kind local manager for trying to address the situation. Granted, some places do not have a full understanding of what GF is, but at least he had heard of the issue and made the effort to help, and even if my selections are limited, I can eat out once in a while.

Hope this, plus Lucy's post, will help all of you who can frequent a TR.

Cheers!
JJ
