Children grade kindergarten through grade 12 and their parents/guardians are
invited to volunteer for a study conducted for research purposes and
approved by the Pennsylvania State University. The purpose of the study is
to determine what experiences children are having in school as a result of
their celiac disease and what accommodations schools are making to meet the
needs of children with celiac disease. The study will also help to determine
what recommendations children and parents/guardians have for schools so that
school personnel might better meet the needs of children with celiac disease
and gluten intolerance. Any child, grade kindergarten through grade 12 with
celiac disease and his/her parents/guardians can be included in the study
and will be asked to participate in a 15-20 minute phone interview. By
sharing their experiences, children and parents/guardians may provide school
personnel with information that will allow them to better serve the needs of
children with celiac disease.

If you and your child are interested in participating in this study, please
contact Kay Chick, principal investigator, by email at [log in to unmask] or by
phone at 724-349-4495. Informed consent forms will be mailed to you and a
phone interview will be arranged at your convenience. Parental consent is
required if children under the age of 18 are involved in this research
study.
