-Regarding the query about checking with the waiter - usually it's fine -
but in the case of grilled food, sometimes it's wise to check whether there
is anything marinating the grilled food before it gets to the grill - like
soya sauce, or herbs with flour added! or little awkward matters like that.

I always double  check like that
