My friend's daughter is 27 yrs. old and was diagnosed as a celiac when she
was four. As religiously followed her diet to our knowledge.
Last week she had a burning sensation of her abdomen, nausea, fatigue,
muscle weakness, whole body trembling. No vomiting or diarrhea. Dr.
prescribed Compazine and Tagamet. Nausea and pain went away.
On Saturday my friend noticed purpura behind the knees and they took her to
the emergency room where she had extensive bloodwork. Her hematocrit was
33.7, hemogoblin was fine, rest was in normal limits. She was sent home
with a diagnosis of purpura of undetermined etiology.
She continues to have the muscle weakness, fatigue, very pale, and weight
loss. The purpura is now fading.
Just wondering if anyone has experience this or knows of anyone who has had
the same problem.
