This is the summary of comments regarding reactions to Deland Bakery products, or the lack of any adverse reactions ........

I have eaten millet cereal with no problem but when I ate a
slice of Deland millet bread I was SICK and miserable; I went to bed because
I felt so bad. I will never try it again and I have seen others on the
Listserv say the same thing. I did not throw up but wished I could.
***************
I tried Deland millet bread, the first loaf seemed okay, so I purchased a couple of more, & like yourself, just didn't feel well every time thereafter when I ate it. It didn't take me long to figure something's not right here, so I threw the other loaf out. I'll never purchase anything from Deland again!
***************
eating millet causes no symptoms, but eating a DeLand millet product makes me sick each time.
************************
I have given this bread to
several patients. One of them a young child immediately threw up.
****************
I have 3 teenage children with Celiac Disease. My daughter ate a couple a slices of the millet bread from Deland bakery in Florida a few months ago and a couple of hours later we ended up in the E.R. with severe vomiting.
***************
I tried the Deland products and got very sick -vomiting and diarrhea about
two hours later. It seemed like a true celiac reaction
***************
My brother and I had DH reactions after eating products Delands claimed to
be GF. I tested their millet bread with the ELISA home test kit -- the
bread tested positive for "some gluten".
***************
Three of us moms here ordered a joint order from Deland a couple of months ago. I am celiac and their two young children are. I felt nauseated after eating their product and their children had terrible vomiting. I have never had this symptom before.
*************************
They told me that their gluten containing
foods were made in a different room. BUT... the millet bread hurt my Mom's
and daughter's stomachs.
******************
Millet is NOT gluten free ! check the celiac.com website for grains, under millet it says there had not been enough testing on millet with celiacs to say whether it is GF or not, well, i ate two deland bakery rolls and< I have Dh, and broke out in about 50 places, which took over a month to clear up. do not eat millet.
**********************
I eat the bread and hamburg rolls all the time and have never had a reaction
*********************
I have eaten there bread and did not have a reaction from it. I spoke to them a long time ago and they told me that there breads were gf.
***************
My celiac daughter loves their products........when she first tried
them, she had an upset stomach and I thought it was from the
bread.......however, she continued to eat it with no problems......in
fact all her bloodwork and testing remains positive that she is not
consuming gluten, so I assume the bread is fine and her problems were
merely a stomach ache.

My mother, sister and I all eat the bread with absolutely NO problems and my mother and sister are VERY sensitive to gluten ingestion.
