OK, Ok,

I realize this is my third post on this topic, but it is a hot topic for me.

I once typed a paper for a seminary student who was reporting on his
experience which was a requirement for his degree. He had to let his beard
grow, wear grungy clothes, and get put out on the street with a dollar to
his name and survive for a few days. He was in his fifties, by the way...a
Catholic priest seeking further education.

It just occurred to me that anyone considering legislating for or serving
older dementia patients should be doped on morphine and made to wear diapers
that only someone else can change and use a walker and live for a few days
(or maybe a month or two) in one of our institutions for the elderly on a
gluten/milk restricted diet and/or a diabetic diet. Then maybe he should be
given something to give him diarrhea and stomach cramps to simulate
institutional dietary slipups. Now how could we simulate arthritis pain?
And a vanishing bank account?

Feeling punchy,

Susan
