(Yes, it is the drug recommended by Sally Field in the TV commercial!)
There is not much out there re experiences with Boniva among celiacs. If
you are considering it - yes, it is gf. One person had just taken her
first dose. Another's mother had just started it since she couldn't
tolerate once-a-week Fosamax. Several people said they would not touch it
with a 10-foot pole since it is in the class of bisphosphonates(sp?),
which includes Fosamax and Actonel, and has been linked to osteonecrosis
of the jawbone. Also Boniva is said to be not as effective for hipbone as
Fosamax. One said that 2 doctors recommended TwinLabs Tri-Boron Plus (a CA
supplement) which led to a good increase in bone density. It's obviously
an individual choice. Thanks to all who responded.
