There has been quite a bit of discussion about DQ toppings and as the owner
of 4 DQ's here in the Pacific Northwest and a celiac, I would request that
you be extremely cautious about toppings other than fruit. Dairy Queen
because it is an international chain has a number of "approved" suppliers
that franchisees can use. In our area we do not use the topping
manufacturer mentioned in the midwest posting. While our chocolate and
vanilla softserve and our yogurt are themselves GF worldwide because of the
standardized recipe, I would strongly caution against attempting to eat
toppings unless you are able to work with the owner/franchisee to get the
very specific information you need to safely do so. This still leaves most
fruit toppings, and even some candy blizzard ingredients for you to enjoy.
