SPELT IS NOT GF
-spelt contains glutenin and gliadin.

THERE MIGHT BE SOME PEOPLE WHO CAN TOLERATE SPELT, BUT NOT PEOPLE WITH CELIAC
-My understanding has always been that some people who are allergic to wheat can tolerate spelt. It's probably the same for some who are "gluten sensitive" but supposedly not celiac. But does gluten sensitive lead to celiac? I'm not sure if anybody knows for sure.

-My wife has several special needs students who are on wheat free diets but are not on gluten free diets.

THE PEOPLE WHO WROTE THAT ARE IGNORANT
-In my opinion, it's gobbledy-gook. 

-It means that they do not know what they are talking about. 

-I saw an ad for this product on the OU website about a month ago. I  notified them that spelt is not gluten free and that the government  is confiscating breads and bread rolls from bakeries that are  claiming that spelt bread is  gluten free.

-My guess is that the manufacturer doesn't have a clue.  Although some wheat allergic people claim to have no or diminished symptoms with spelt it is neither wheat free nor gluten free.  And, not all wheat allergic people can tolerate spelt.

-i think either the manufacturer is not aware that spelt is not appropriate for people on a gluten free diet, or they are making a distinction between "gluten free" and "gluten sensitive" diets.  in any case, celiacs cannot safely eat this product.

-They mean that they don't know enough about spelt.

-Many people who do not fully understand the gluten-free diet say that spelt is gluten-free, but it's NOT. It is just another form of wheat. Many health food stores who have not been properly trained will tell people on a gluten-free diet it's safe for them to eat, but it's not

PEOPLE WILL LIE TO YOU ABOUT SPELT
-Health Food Store Personnel have been pushy with touting this as wheat free and recently gluten free which is not true it's just wheat in a form that we as modern day people have not been eating regularly.

-The only people who consider it wheat free are the spelt millers, manufacturers, and vendors. Spelt is a form of wheat. It is neither wheat free nor gluten free. It may be that some people with an allergy to the common type of wheat can tolerate spelt. If so, more power to them. The problem is that the spelt pushers try to take this possibility that some with a wheat allergy can tolerate spelt and rework it into the falsehoods that spelt is wheat free and gluten free.

-Who is it or what is it that you are quoting from the web?  There are numerous references for the GF status of millet, quinoa, amaranth and buckwheat, including GIG and many of the celiac associations

CORRECT YOUR MISTAKE
-I am certain that millet, buckwheat, amaranth and quinoa are definitely gluten-free, not sure about the rest of them, except that spelt is NOT GF and it is considered a derivative of wheat...........best to correct this misinformation for those people who are new to, or confused about, the GF diet.........
