Someone kindly pointed out a mistake I made in the following sentence of my
post:

"Other stimulent laxatives such as docusate sodium, caster oil, cascara
sagrada, etc. work by irritating the gut lining."

In that sentence I meant to type Dulcolax (bisacodyl) instead of docusate
sodium. (Got my D-word laxatives mixed up!) Dulcolax, (bisacodyl) is a
stimulent laxative. Docusate sodium is not a stimulent laxative, but a
detergent laxative commonly referred to as a "stool softener."

I apologize for the error.
