Hello List,

Another mom with a celiac child was given a prescription for Omnicef,
made by Abbott Laboritories. Her son began to have diarrhea, and she
now is concerned that the antibiotic might have caused it (from gluten).
Abbott Labs won't commit, though it says they do not add gluten, they
cannot guarantee that outside suppliers haven't contaminated their
product.

Does anyone have experience with this medication, or any definite answer
about it? She needs to know ASAP, as the family is going out of town on
Wednesday and she'd like to plan for a good vacation!

Oh, and her son has been eating yogurt with acidopholus for several days
now. She realizes that the diarrhea may not be from gluten, but from
intestinal problems with the antibiotic, but then again...

Thanks for your help!

Juliane
