Can anyone offer insight on the usefulness of this blood test? I suspect I
may have CD. My son was diagnosed 8 months ago. We have been trying to
have another child and had scheduled an appointment with a fertility
specialist the week after my son's diagnosis. I asked about possible CD as
a factor. He was pretty dismissive of it but ordered the blood test
described above.

This does not match the name of tests I've seen recommended by those who
know. I haven't been able to get useful info about the test from the doctor
or his staff. My results came back in the normal range for IGA, IGG, & IGM.
I had only known about gluten - & eaten much less of it due to my son's
diet - for literally a few days when the test was performed, so shouldn't
results be accurate? I want to get on the diet if needed, but can't until I
get a diagnosis... Many of you know how that goes. My primary MD doesn't
want to use a special lab, if she tests me, so I don't think I'll trust the
results.

I've found that my dose of thyroid hormone (for long-standing auto-immune
thyroid disease) fluctuates according to whether I'm on gluten or not; I
went back on gluten a few weeks ago in hopes of getting accurate CD testing
done, and went from subclinical hyperthyroidism to testing hypothyroid
again. Doctors don't know the reason. I just read about such fluctuations
being correlated with CD antibodies in the bloodstream. Anyone else
experienced this?

Sorry for the length of this email. I'm just trying to sort this out and
determine the next step, with apparent infertility and a ticking biological
clock pushing me a bit.
To reiterate my questions:
1. Is "Anticardiolip AB IGA/IGG/IGM" blood test of any use in diagnosing CD?
2. Should blood antibody levels be significantly affected after only 4 or 5
days of reduced gluten intake (not perfectly gf - was too new to know how)?
3. How important is it to use the labs recommended by CSA to get accurate
blood test results?
4. Anyone else found their TSH level fluctuating significantly with only
major known variable being whether consuming gluten or not?

Thanks to everyone who has any input. I will summarize.
