The following appeared regarding eating out at Tony's Roma's "Had copied
the list, and went at the Hallandale FL. one and ate baby back ribs,
original sauce, coleslaw, plain baked potato, all of them being on the gf
list.

Have had a gluten reaction, and even if I'm not sensitive, have been sick all
night.

Must have had a lot of gluten into it."

I & others were involved in discussions with a local restaurant regarding
g.f. items on their menu. The convervsations and conclusions were
interesting. It is not enough that the food contain no gluten, it must also
be prepared & presented to avoid contamination to keep it g.f. While nothing
has been done yet, the consensus learne toward "Ask about our g.f.
selections." at the bottom of the menu rather than noting gluten containing
items on the menu.

While it is nice to be anonymous & order like everyone else, it is far to
easy for food to become contaminated in a busy kitchen. The staff can't make
sure your g.f. food stays g.f. unless they KNOW it needs to be g.f. Ordering
g.f. items from a list is not enough. You must still identify yourself &
your problem & ask that care be taken to avoid contact with gluten containing
foods, surfaces, & utensils.

Everytime you go through the entire g.f. song & dance routine, you've
educated another about celiac. We've got a long way to go, so "Each one,
teach one..."
