     Hi,
I recently came across a leaflet in a health food store recommending
papain as a help to render gluten harmless to celiac patients.

Papain is a 'protein digesting enzyme isolated from the unripe papaya
fruit, and helps digest wheat gluten and render it harmless in celiac
subjects. May help to all tolerance of gluten' (Quote).

I believe that GF is a lifelong condition, but has anyone come across
     this claim anywhere else ?
