Our family visited Steamtown National Historic Site (www.nps.gov.stea -
working steam railroad main yards with working repair shop, roundhouse and
roundtable), which has no food whatsoever, but does have outdoor picnic
tables and benches.

Reports were received as to an Outback Steakhouse in Wilkes-Barre (about 20
minutes south of Scranton) and the following in Dickson City about 10
minutes North of Scranton: a Red Robin (www.redrobin.com, burgers and
salads); Don Pablos (www.donpablos.com)(will cater to you, just get the
right manager); Five Guys (www.fiveguys.com, burgers, kosher hot dogs) ; and
a Pizzeria Uno (www.unos.com, GF menu, steaks, burgers, vegies, salads,
smoothies). The last had a good report, as did a family restaurant in North
Scranton called Natale's (who will cook GF for you because his wife has GF
friends).

Alternative Eating (alternativeeating.net), a new gluten free store with
lots of variety was reported in West Scranton at 116 South Main Avenue near
the post office. There are Wegmans Food Markets (www.wegmans.com) in
Scranton and Wilkes-Barre.

In Scranton, there is a Charlie Brown's Steakhouse reported
(www.charliebrowns.com, list of GF on website). We visited Longhorn
Steakhouse (www.longhornsteakhouse.com) on Montage Mountain, in Moosic, just
south of Scranton on a busy Saturday night. The food was good and
reasonably priced. They were extremely accommodating and our server was very
GF knowledgeable. Fortunately, we brought their GF menu off the website, as
the restaurant had none.

About 25 miles east of Scranton in the Lake Ariel area is The Grainless
Baker (www.thegrainlessbaker.com) whose products our child loves and which
has retail stores in Scranton at the Minooka Pastry Shop and in Moscow PA.
