I recieved a few emails in response to my summary on distance running.  It
appears that Clif Shot is not gluten free.  Here's what one person said,

"Clif Shot told me that they thought and told people who inquired that
they were GF because they didn’t know that Brown Rice Syrup could contain
barley extract. They now say they are not gluten free because they do not
know the nature of their Brown Rice Syrup."
