Over the years, I have heard some theories on canker sores:  that
an abundance of them implies a B6 deficiency and that using a
mouth rinse called Viadent helps.  Viadent contains a germicide in it.
 
I think that visiting the dentist causing canker sores may be a result
of the trauma caused by their instruments (I can give myself a canker
sore if I gouge mouth with the toothbrush).
