Dear All,
I recently subscribed to this list and have been amazed by the amount of
information that is being shared, and how friendly everyone is.

My husband has recently been diagnosed as having Coeliac disease. After 8
weeks of following a gluten-free diet he has regained just over 50% of
weight loss, his Doctors are amazed by his recovery.

In the UK we have a 'Coeliac Disease Society' to which we now belong. They
publish a book every year telling us what products satisfy the criteria set
by the Society for gluten-free foods. So we now carry this around when we go
shopping, and there are many things which we can buy in our supermarkets,
including Peter's favourite chocolates and sweets. We can also get special
breads, biscuits/cookies, pasta, and special mixes for bread and cakes. I
have found it interesting to try out cake recipes as that is one of the
things that he has missed most in the last 6-8 months.

I wonder if anyone can help us - we are planning a holiday in Canada, mainly
Vancouver and BC, and I'd like to know if there are any particular
shops/healthstores where we can buy gluten-free bread/rolls, cookies, or
biscuits.

Hoping someone can advise
Best wishes
Judy Lay (Wantage, near Oxford, UK)
