Mark your Calendars for June 4, 5, and 6, 2004

Come to Portland, Oregon for the Gluten Intolerance Group's (GIG) Annual
Education Conference. Enjoy the beautiful Rose City. If you plan your
vacation right, you may take in some of the Rose Festival Activities.

Portland is a fabulous city and is rated as one of - The 10 Greatest
Places to Live, by Outside magazine and getting around the city is quite
easy. Check out how convenient it is to get around Portland by going to
the following website http://www.portlandonline.com/, and click on
Visiting. Check out all of the subgroups there for great information,
i.e. Parks, Transportation, Tourism, etc.

Transportation from Portland International Airport to downtown Portland
is a breeze with the Airport Max Light Rail Red Line, taxis, hotel
courtesy vans, shuttles, executive cars and rental cars.

Are you a bicycle rider? An easy way to see Portland is on two wheels.
Good choice, according to Bicycling magazine, which recently ranked
Portland the United States' top cycling city two years running.

See the fabulous boats in the harbors, the many bridges in the city, and
much, much more. Take river boat cruises; tour the many gardens, go
shopping and more shopping. See the mountains and note that Mt. St.
Helens volcano is nearby for tours. Wind surfing on the Columbia River
is not far away.

Parks and more parks -- one of the city's main bragging points -- is its
parks. The Portland area is home to an unrivaled number of open spaces
(37,000 acres to be exact). Even in the heart of downtown, you're sure
to see more green than gray as you invariably stumble across grassy
oases. Portland's parks also boast an incredible range in size, from the
5,000 acre Forest Park, America's largest urban wilderness; to tiny
24-inch Mill Ends Park - one visitor at a time, please. The gardens
should be beautiful at this time of year, as it is Rose Festival time.
Portland has a floral parade that is quite outstanding.

Long recognized as a fisherman's haven, the Pacific Northwest is rich
with steelhead, trout and sturgeon. Here, when local's brag of catching
a 30-pound sturgeon...chances are, they're not fibbing.

Please keep these dates available. More details about GIG's Annual
Education Conference and program will be coming out soon. Mark and save
June 4 through 6, 2004 and come see all of us in Portland, Oregon.

Nancy Kloberdanz
Conference Co-Chair
