 Hi all,

My name is Tonya. I joined the list several months ago
and have been lurking while waiting for results from my
endoscopy/biopsy. I just found out today the results
were normal. I don't know where to go from here. I would
appreciate it if anyone would look over my symptoms and
tell me if I should seek help from a celiac specialist,
or pursue/look at the possibilities that something else
 is going on besides celiac.

Thank you in advance to anyone who has any advice.

-Through high school and college I had severe stomach
pains not alleviated AT ALL by any medication
prescription/over the counter. I had a gastro and
gallbladder work up done at that time that showed
nothing. These went away in my late 20's for the most
part. But still come back every now and then.

-My senior college year from feeling tired and these
stomach problems I was diagnosed severely anemic. No
reason could be determined. I even had a bone marrow tap
 to check for leukemia.

Since that time I've been on iron, but still have
 periods of extreme anemia.

-I've always had very irregular periods.

-For the past 2 years (I'm 40, now.) I've been severely
anemic, had chronic fatigue, depression and developed
hypothyroidism. (My anemia is iron defficiency.)

-In addition to stomach aches I've had on and off
diarrhea for no apparent reason, and constant flatulence.

 - my blood work now shows abnormalities that indicate
autoimmune problems. (some kind of antinuclear
something?? high sed. rate, etc...) My doctor feared
lupus. I've been to a rheumatologist who says I do not
have lupus. I often have painful glands in my neck and
 run a low grade fever.

-Hemocults have shown blood. I had a colonoscopy that
 came back normal.

-I recently discovered that I'm infertile.

 -I have scoliosis.

 -severe night blindness

All of these things appear to be symptoms I've read
about with celiac. When I heard about celiac I asked
for the biopsy. I asked about the blood test too, and
was told I didn't need one??

I was so sure that celiac was the answer to the problems
I've been having. I live in metropolitan Atlanta. Should
I see a specialist? My gastro. is recommending I have
an x-ray/upper g.i. as next step...

Any suggestions would be greatfully appreciated.

 Thank you,
 Tonya
