I finally have an answer regarding the Gluten Status of Avon lipsticks.

I had a visit from a district manager yesterday and asked her whether
Avon Lipsticks are Gluten free.

She explained that Avon uses gluten in their lipstick for binding and
also it helps with the sheen and staying power.

So Avon lipsticks are NOT GLUTEN FREE

I am finally glad to confirm this to you as I suspected that was the
cause of my reaction when going out and have not had a problem since
going without lipstick.  I am still looking for a gluten free lipstick.
