Listmembers.....

I received a few responses to my summary, and I'm including one from a
couple of listmembers and an explanation from my friend who introduced me
to Nori. I have not yet started using this product, but I plan to do so
later when my hectic schedule eases off. There is a listmember's comment
on another product, POM. Any questions or comments on this, please address
to the List, as I know nothing about it. thanks!

***From my friend, a Nori user:
>Regarding Noni, it is great for people with auto-immune disorders because
>it actually strengthens this system in particular as well as all
>others. (There is) a couple of doctors who are in LA area and actually
>prescribe Noni to their patients, even those with only a few weeks of
>life, with remarkable results. There is nothing better to be best
>informed. Regarding the negative remarks, it probably is in regards
>to the cleansing reactions some people get, or simply they just find the
>taste and smell so offensive. As I continue to research and read more on
>it, I am finding out that those people whose bodies are dehydrated (even
>when they do not even know it, is at the cellular level), have this kind
>of reaction. People whose bodies try to eliminate the abundant toxins in
>their bodies may develop a rash, but this is a cleansing reaction that
>will subside as the body becomes cleaner, or some others may experience
>loose bowels as part of the same reaction. Whichever the cause, these
>people need to dilute the juice and take it only after drinking water in
>the morning. The overnight wait without any water or food, makes our body
>cells thirsty, when a.m. comes and they drink Noni, the powerful nutrients
>and cleansing agents become absorbed all at once, so the cells do not know
>how to handle so much purity, therefore, these more sensitive people may
>develop a negative reaction (at first).
>When you drank it none of this happened so I assume you would not fall
>within this category. It is very important to drink lots of water before
>entering the Noni regimen and during the regimen, so that your body is
>fully hydrated and the water in your body help carry the nutrients to
>those cells that need Noni the most. As you say, it wont' hurt and it may
>help a lot, even to the point of changing one's life. Mine has already
>done so and my family's as well, and I am sure yours can truly benefit
>from this simple gift of nature.

**** From a Listmember:
Noni was highly totted about 3 years ago...lots of promises, including
curing diabetes....nothing happened with the stuff..a big dud. I'm
surprised it's still being made. A sucker born every minute, I guess

**From another listmember:
Interesting you posted this. At my first appointment with a new GI
last
Monday she recommended I start drinking this to help me with my celiac
disease. I've been drinking it for about a week now, haven't noticed too
much of an improvement, yet. I'm not drinking a lot of it though, maybe 50
ml a day.
I drink POM juice every day and noticed a huge difference when I
started
drinking that. In fact I credit POM juice with a major improvement I my gut
health. I was going to a GP for about 2 years after being diagnosed with
celiac disease in 2001. At the time I started going to this doctor he told
me my intestines felt "hard" when he pressed on my abdomen during
examination. I found the POM juice during this time and drank it daily for
about 6 months before I saw this doctor again.
The last appointment with the doctor during the examination he told me that
my intestines felt "soft and spongy" (which is normal). I told him I had
been drinking the POM juice during this time and he thought maybe the juice
was high in vitamin C. But I checked the bottle and according to POM's label
the juice has no vitamin C in it. So they do say the juice is high in
antioxidants, the highest source of antioxidants supposedly. I don't know.
But all I know is drinking about 8 ounces of the juice every day has caused
my intestines to feel the best they have felt in years. They have a website,
you can check it out here: http://www.pomwonderful.com/
By the way, apparently I had celiac disease for about 40 years; it was
really wrecking my health over the last 15 years. By June 2001 I was really
a mess from decades of eating gluten. But I'm doing better theses days. Just
have to stick with the B-6, B-12, folic acid, all the B vitamins but
especially those three are really important. I got anemia a couple of weeks
ago from B-12 and B-6 deficiency, it wasn't hard for that to develop, I just
cut back on the B-vitamins for a week and it developed in me.
