Thanks so very much to all those that responded.  The general consensus
seems to be that Guar Gum does not contain gluten, although it does act as a
mild laxative and since diarrhea is common to many celiacs, many of you
try to avoid it.  However, if diarrhea is not a problem, and it is not in my
son's case, then Guar Gum should have no ill effect.

Thank you again.  There is such a wealth of knowledge on this site.  A comfort
for those times when trying to be gluten-free can feel overwhelming!
