Dear Friends,

I asked about carbohydrate imbalance and have received several
responses. They are still coming in so I will wait a little longer to
summarize. In a few of the responses the suggestion was made to put
bean flour in the mix for my breads to help the carb/protein balance. I
did that yesterday, the bread was delicious but I noticed that I began
with pretty bad hot flashes again. I am 52 and that has been something
that has been ongoing (off and on) for a while. However, when I was on
the specific carbohydrate diet (Breaking the Vicious Cycle book diet)
and trying to eat the nut breads etc. they (hot flashes) increased
tremendously. When I stopped eating the nuts...the hot flashes cut way
down in frequency and intensity. Now they are only infrequent and very
light. All this to get to the fact that it seemed that after I ate the
bread (with the bean flour) the hot flashes were quite bad and during
the night I woke up totally drenched like I did when I was eating the
nuts. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Maybe they are
liver flushes and not hot flashes? Any ideas? Thank you for your help!
