Hello all,
My first question to this CELIAC List concerns
Metamucil-like fiber laxative products. Is there a danger of getting
any gluten in these "natural" psyllium preparations (Active Ingredient:
Psyllium Hydrophlic Mucoid fiber; Inactive Ingredient: Dextrose)?
We buy regular flavor at CVS Drug Store (Consumer Value Stores). Does
anyone have experience with this or the higher-priced Metamucil brand
regarding GF?
My wife was skin-biopsy diagnosed with Dermatitis
herpetiformis early this month and has been trying to get on a
gluten-free existence since. At first we rushed out to replace the
wheat chex with corn chex and rice chex. Only they had malt! Next we
got lots of oats cereal. But then we started learning some the tricks
from the great attitude book of Jax Peters Lowell "Against the Grain"
(and Bette Hagman's cookbooks). Only there is so much more to watch out
for. Is occasional Metamucil another no-no?
