I'm new to the list, and have found the information I've received so far quite
interesting. My father was diagnosed with celiac sprue in 1975. I tend to have
allergies to foods (which I now can see might be celiac), and my son has
asthma.

I'm writing, however, to find out if anyone knows if there is a connection
between celiac and Cystic Fibrosis.  My nephew's son has been diagnosed with
CF.  Their doctor told them that my father may actually have had a mild case
of CF, instead of celiac.  My father died 20 years ago, so we can't have him
tested.  I was searching around the web looking for information and found a
piece of mail on a CF list written in 1994 hypothesizing that there may be
some connection and that celiac, asthma, and allergies might indicate the
person is a carrier.
