Undeclared gluten in milupa step 1 baby meal rice cereal
LOT 012008 EXPIRY 20.08.2002

Montreal, May 28, 2002 - Van de Water- Raymond Ltd/Ltee. of Montreal,
Quebec and Milupa GmbH & Co. KG of Germany is warning consumers not to
consume MILUPA STEP 1 BABY MEAL RICE CEREAL. The affected product was
filled with Milupa Oatmeal Cereal and incorrectly labelled as Milupa Step 1
Rice Cereal. The affected product may contain gluten that is not declared
on the label.

Van de Water- Raymond Ltd/Ltee. of Montreal, Quebec is voluntary recalling
MILUPA STEP 1 RICE CEREAL, LOT 012008, EXPIRY 20.08.2002, Product Code,
9460, 250 gram cartons, UPC CODE 074830209759 from the market.

The product is distributed across Canada.

MILUPA STEP 1 RICE CEREAL may cause adverse consequences to persons
sensitive to gluten. Also, introducing oats instead of rice could have
negative effects on infants.

There has been one reported illness complaint associated with this product.
