I have just read my mail for the last several days and saw a number of
references to Lactaid.

Three weeks ago I started taking some medication containing lactose, I took
Lactaid with the medication. I have heard Lactaid mentioned many times in
discussions on cd, so I assumed it was ok! Initially it did seem to work.
Then, I got all the other reactions I get from gluten.

Thinking I had made a mistake in a restaurant, I didn't analyse what I was
eating at home. A week passed before I realized I was not getting better. I
called 1-800-LACTAID last Wednesday and was told:

"We CAN NOT guarantee Lactaid is gluten free".

On Friday I found Dairy Aid from Nature Made Nutritional Products. I called
the company and was told Dairy Aid is gf. Most of my symptoms have gone so
I'm hopeful this information is correct. If anyone knows anything to the
contrary, please let me know. Also, if anyone knows of a gf alternative
that also tastes ok and you can swallow easily, I'd appreciate that
information -- perhaps I'm expecting too much!

P.S. DAIRY AID WARNING -- DON"T CHEW AND HAVE A DRINK READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
