The Bellingham Gluten Intolerance Group is pleased to be able to offer to

demonstrations, gluten free products/manufacturers samples, local restaurants GF  
samples, gluten free book sale, silent auction, donors' drawing, a panel  
discussion, children's GFinfo (Healthy Gluten-Free Kids), and many other  
exciting and educational opportunities regarding 
a gluten free lifestyle.  More details below . . . .

2 PM - Healthy GF Eating for your Ideal Weight - Sheena Grannis, MA,

3:30 PM - Topic Discussion - Traveling GF and Emergency Preparedness, with

11 AM - Speaker Karen Robertson, cookbook author will be presenting  
Tasty Tips on Healthy Gluten Free Baking and How to Live Deliciously on a  
Gluten Free Diet
 
While taste is Karen's primary concern in cooking, she will discuss baking  
with healthier flours and a gluten-free Multi Blend mix. Tips for 
essentials  such as gluten free pizza crust and bread will be featured. She will draw 
on her  recent experience working as a baker in a local pie shop where she 
learned some  new methods and developed a gluten/dairy/egg free pie crust. 
Ms. Robertson has  cooked gluten free since 1997 when her children were 
diagnosed with Celiac  Disease. She has been a board member for the Gluten 
Intolerance Group, a gluten  free cooking instructor at PCC Natural Markets, a 
gluten free cook for her  family for thirteen years and a speaker at 
conferences. She is a past Associate  Food Editor for Living Without magazine and now 
contributes articles to the  magazine. Currently she helps those on a gluten 
free diet through her  blog.
 
10:30 AM to 2:30 PM - Food Sampling - Representatives from Restaurants,  
Stores, and GF Manufacturers, all will be set up to offer samples of their GF  
products and answer questions. There will also be a "static manufacturer's  
samples" area.
 
Ongoing from 10 AM to 3:30
Dr. Jean Layton, Naturopathic Physician and  Healthy Gluten Free Kids 
coordinator, will be on hand in our "health room" along  with other healthcare 
practitioners and services.
 
BGIG members will also be available to help answer your questions on the  
gluten free diet. A great place to find our more about our local group.
 
1:30 PM - 3:00 PM - Panel Discussion - Guest presenter, Karen Robertson and 
 Dr. Jean Layton, ND and chef will be ready to answer your Cooking Gluten 
Free  questions in a open forum, a great place to get answers - even if you 
didn't  think of the question!
