Why must we go through this time after time? Millet is NOT biologically
related to wheat, rye, oats or barley. If there is a problem, it can
only come from cross contamination. For all the opinions out there, can
we please stick with some basic biological facts. If you have the
genetically-based, auto-immune disease called celiac disease and if you
consume even a small quantity of the gluten protein from wheat, rye,
oats or barley (or spelt, kamut, triticale), then you will damage your
intestinal villi and be unable to absorb certain nutrients. The damage
to the villi can result in intestinal cancer. The inability to absorb
nutrients can result in a variety of personal systemic effects, i.e..
remove a nutrient from the diet and ask any knowledgeable physician what
effect this would have. [for example, lactose intolerance common in
celiacs leads to reduced calcium intake and the potential for osteoporosis].

If you consume basic, uncontaminated food stuffs, you should be very healthy.
However, it takes time, effort and money to find and prepare basic foods. So we
use manufactured foods and rely on the manufacturer to keep a pure product.
Misinformation causes confusion.
