Thank you all of those who responded to me.

I had been wary about wat4er filters as it is filter with charcoal and
briquettes used for stoves do contain gluten binding.

I received one answer stating they had contacted the company and it was GF.
An other one, from UK, was very knowledgeable, a chemist, and explained me
why it was GF.

All the other ones were interested to know if it was.

Finally, Brita themselves answered me back, here it is:

"Thank you for taking the time to contact us about BRITA water filter. We
appreciate your interest in our products.

The Brita filter does not contain any gluten.

The ingredients of the Brita filter are:

Activated carbon - activated carbon has a great deal of surface area and
therefore is an ideal filtering substance for trapping the maximum amount of
organic molecules. Specifically, the activated carbon works to remove water
discoloration and the taste of chlorine, rust and sulphur.

Ion-exchange resin - As the water passes through the Brita filter, the
ion-exchange resin acts like a magnet, binding to it's surface heavy metal
ions like lead and copper. The ion-exchange resin also absorbs calcium and
magnesium which causes water hardness.

Unlike most other ion-exchange products, Brita's ion-exchange resin does not
release sodium (salt) into your water.

Once again, thank you for contacting us. If we can be of further assistance
to you, please contact us again.

Sincerely,

Wilfredo Arroyo
Product Specialist"
