Dear Doctor Kasarda: My husband was diagnosed as a Celiac 8
years ago and, to our knowledge, he has never had a reaction
to wheat dust in the air. I do plenty of baking with regular
wheat flour and he has been exposed to that in the kitchen.
I have, however, heard of one woman in our support group in
NH who claimed to have a reaction to wheat dust after
cleaning out a kitchen cupboard that had wheat flour spilled
on the shelf. I agree with you that Celiacs have so much to
worry about without having to worry about breathing!
