The Hunterdon County Celiac Disease Support group was pleased to have author Connie Sarros as their March 1st, 2004 speaker
The Hunterdon County Celiac Disease Support Group's next meeting is Tuesday, July 7, 2009.

A representative from the National Foundation for Celiac Awareness will be the speaker.

The group meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, NJ, from 7-8:30pm. These are free and informal meetings.

People with Celiac Disease cannot eat foods that contain the protein "gluten" found in grains such as wheat, rye, barley and sometimes oats. The gluten sets off an autoimmune reaction that causes the destruction of the villi in the small intestine. The small intestine cannot absorb nutrients properly, and the inflicted person becomes malnourished.

Please contact Danene Gooding at [log in to unmask] or 908-806-7407 for more information. Anyone with Celiac Disease or wheat intolerance is welcome, along with any other family members, children or friends.
