Thank you to everyone who responded to my question about Buckwheat.  I get
it! Buckwheat has nothing to do with wheat.  Below are a sample of responses.
 I received so many replies.  Thank you all.

"Buckwheat is gluten free - it's a grass not a grain"

"Buckwheat is on the new (well a year old now) ADA guidelines for GF
foods.  It is a fruit really and not a grain. "

"Buckwheat is a member of the rhubarb family and not a grain at all. "

Buckwheat is not any relation to the wheat plant at all. It is gluten free.
Read the ingredients carefully, in case of some other problem, but if the box
is labeled gluten free, the manufacturer is willing to stand by the product."

So it's totally GF, if contamination are ruled out. But still some celiacs
are sensitive to it because it has Oxilates and saponin in it, which some

So I understand that Buckwheat is not wheat, but some people do react
strongly to it and you should be cautious.
