About two weeks ago, a post stated that Martinelli's Sparkling Apple-Cranberry was not GF. This didn't make sense to me (given that the Sparkling Apple was GF), so I emailed the same Martinelli's rep who had made the statement, and she just got back to me today with the revised information below. While I appreciate the correct information, I must say it's a little unsettling to realize that sometimes we can't rely on the first answer we receive from a company, although in this case, believing something is not GF is safer than believing it is!

Hello Barrie-

Happy New Year. Since we last e-mailed, I have been in contact with our cranberry supplier along with our Quality Assurance Manager. Both have assured me that the Sparkling Apple-Cranberry that Martinelli's manufactures is a gluten-free product. In the past, we have purchased our cranberry concentrate from another supplier other than Kerr Concentrates who assured us that gluten is not in any pressing aids used to produce cranberry concentrate or in the cranberry concentrate itself. The past supplier had mentioned a gluten pressing aid. Kerr has been our supplier for the past 5 years now. I am sorry that we did not supply you with the correct information in the beginning. I will be adding this important fact to our FAQ section on our web site. I am happy to e-mail that all Martinelli's products are gluten free.

Thank you,
Mary Clifton

  Hello Ms. Clifton:

I am on an international celiac disease list-serv, which this morning posted a note from you stating that all of the Martinelli's sparkling ciders are gluten-free, except for the Sparkling Apple-Cranberry. (I pasted your response below, as it appeared in the list post.) I have celiac disease, and I also have a bottle of the Sparkling Apple-Cranberry chilling in my refrigerator! I looked again at the label and see nothing there that would indicate any gluten content. Can you please inform me what ingredients in this beverage contain gluten? I will post your reply to the list.

  Thank you,
  Barrie Rissman
