I just want to share some tibits regarding traveling in Oregon. As I was
told, there are a number of Fred Meyer stores and the one in Redman where I
went, had an excellent supply of gluten free foods. I did not check the
other Fred Meyer stores, but expect they were the same.

There is a restaurant on the coast : Rendezvous Restaurant and Lounge in
Tillamook, Oregon that has gluten free clam chowder and it is absolutely
'out of this world'! Pure cream, clams and potatoes...........
and NO gluten.

Mo's is a chain in Oregon I believe mostly along the coast, but maybe some
inland and their clam chowder is NOT gf, but they DO have a gluten free
menu!!! and they are VERY open to suggestions. I made a few. They only
had protein. I suggested Taste of Thai noodles, rice and potatoes. They
liked the idea. I actually ate some of their mashed potatoes and they were
fine. I also suggested that they add to their web site that they have a gf
menu. If I understood correctly 'Mo" is a grandma now, and no longer works
but she reads aLL of the little slips of paper they give each party to fill
out asking for suggestions and opinions. They want to make it gf friendly
as they get a lot of requests for it. I also found gluten free hash browns
at "Sharie's", which is also a chain. And they were delicious.

By the way, I can't remember if I wrote, but in Alaska, we have a little
cafe that makes their own soups and all 3 soups are gluten free, in
Whittier, Alaska.

Just in case anyone is interested.
