I just phoned Citracal to inquire about the gluten free stats of
their products. Cireical is manufactured by Mission. The Citrical
consumer person stated that there were no gluten ingredients, but it
was made in the Mission facility which could be making other gluten
containing products. Bayer owns Citracal now. We had previously had
trouble with Bayer because their low dosage aspirin was not
guaranteed gluten free. Bayer has also contacted with Novartis for
another product for osteoporosis.

Once again I find a situation of planned ignorance by manufacturers.
A company as big and powerful as Bayer could certainly write
specifications which would make sure products were truly gluten free.
They could certainly arrange for testing.
